Scott & I drove down to Danville today yet again, so we could attend cousin Leah's baby blessing. Later tonight, we got Leah & William dressed up in their blessing outfits & had a photo shoot. Of course Will was sleeping the whole time & Leah was wide awake & all smiles.

Christmas 2008
Scott had to work on Christmas Eve/his birthday, so I took William to the fire station to visit him. I made a sheet cake & wrapped up a few presents to make it feel a little bit more like his birthday.
When Scott got home this morning, we celebrated our very first Christmas as a family. (Will wasn't very interested in his presents - I wasn't surprised, but still felt like I needed to do something for him.)
After we finished our personal Christmas morning, we packed up & drove to Danville to be with my family.

William's Blessing
Today was William's baby blessing. Family & friends traveled from Missouri, Utah, Bakersfield, Tehachapi, & Danville. We also had the support of our amazing friends that we've made here.
William with his great-grandmother, Sammie (my mom's mother). She purchased William's blessing outfit (through my sister's online store) as a gift. Thank you so much Sammie! He looked adorable, & the outfit was so sweet. Those who participated in William's blessing - My brothers Brad & Steven, Dwight, my dad, Scott, & Dennis. Our friends, Andrew, Josh, & Jonathan, as well as Bishop Paulsen, also assisted with the blessing (but unfortunately weren't there for the picture). William & his daddyOur happy familyWilliam with his blessing cap on - I thought it would look dorky, but once it was on, I thought it was so cute. After changing out of his blessing outfit: We tried propping William up on a pillow to take some pictures, but he was so fascinated by all the bright colors on the blanket, that he didn't want to look up. Notice his crossed eyes - he loves looking at those firetrucks & police cars.

The Bascoms
Our friends, Dwight & Bevan, came to visit us tonight with their son, Maddox. Scott became friends with Dwight after he got home from his mission (they both served in Australia, so found something in common very quickly). It was so much fun seeing them & their awesome little boy.

Leah & William meet
My sister, Susan, had her daughter, Leah, exactly three weeks before I had William. Today, Leah & William met for the first time. It was hilarious seeing them next to each other. Leah is so wiry & energetic while William is so squishy & mellow. I caught a smile.Leah started crying. Not wanting to feel left out, Will started up too. His cry was so wimpy & pathetic - he obviously had no clue why he was crying. I love his pout - his lower lip sticks out so far (it's hard to see how truly dramatic he is in a picture).

William - 2 months old
My sweet boy turned 2 months old yesterday. He finished with his bath & was so relaxed & happy. I love the little smirk on his face - & his curly-q bellybutton. His hands are always in fists, so they get sweaty & smell like dirty feet - I know that's disgusting, but I also think it's hilarious. He's my little sweetheart!

Christmas Lights
This is the second year that we've gone with Tiffani & Andrew to look at Christmas lights. We started the night at Andrew's parents' house singing a few Christmas songs & hearing the Nativity story. We then ate dessert, gathered hot chocolate for our walk, & headed out to look at lights. We bundled up in winter gear to stay warm while we walked through the neighborhood - I learned last year that flip flops & a sweatshirt weren't enough to stay warm, so this year I came prepared.
Scott & AndrewTiffani, Carson, & me - I love the look on Carson's face. He looks horrified.

Photos of the last few weeks
Gail giving William a bath: Dennis & Gail stayed w/ us for a week after Thanksgiving, so they could help take care of Will (& help w/ the waterfall) after my 2nd round of Mastitis Home from a walk w/ Grandma & Grandpa: William loves spending time outside. Seriously mom? Why am I dressed like a lumberjack?I went to Danville last weekend for a friend's bridal shower. We got to spend time w/ Nana & Papa & Sammie.William & Kathy (Caitlin's mom) finally got to meet - he loved snuggling w/ her.
Finally sleeping after fussy time. He was passed around from me to Nana to Papa & finally to Sammie - she had the magic touch. On Wednesday, Scott, Will, & I went to Danville to meet up w/ my best friend, Caitlin, who was visiting the Bay area for a couple days. Will loved meeting his Aunt/Godmother Caity. Playing w/ his new friend - a butterfly that hardly ever fails to entertain him. Thanks for the early Christmas present Grandma & Grandpa: Will loves his new toy!

The Waterfall's Done!
Well, Scott & Dennis did it again. One more big project completed, & it only took 3 days (minus a little prep work).
