SYTYCD on tour

A couple months ago, Scott surprised me with tickets for So You Think You Can Dance season 7 tour.

Last night, we drove down to Vacaville to drop Will off with my parents. When we got there, we ate at an incredible burger place called Five Guys - I highly recommend it (if no one in your family has peanut allergies)! After eating our delicious dinner & saying bye to Will, we drove back to Sacramento for the big show!

All I have to say is "WOW!" I was amazed at the talent these people have, & honestly, some of the dances almost brought me to tears. They were so beautiful! I especially loved watching Lauren, Kent, Dominic, Robert & Courtney (although everyone was so good)!

Thanks for the awesome treat Scott! It was unbelievable to see!

20 October - Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

Today, my friend Cherrie & I took the babes to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm. We had such a great time!
Mason, Cherrie, & Avery

We saw all kinds of animals at the petting zoo: sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, a donkey, cow, & llama.
Will kept putting his fingers through the cage, trying to poke the goat's face while saying "eye, eye" - the poor goat!

It was incredible to watch these piglets nurse from their mother (who was huge, by the way!).

donkey (in case you couldn't figure that one out ;)

The actual petting zoo area was so much fun! I loved watching Will chase the goats around even though he was nervous about getting too close to any. There were a few times when he would get really excited & tap one, but then he'd run off as fast as he could (usually bumping into another child or goat in his effort to get away from the one he'd just barely braved touching).

Will also liked peeking in at the goats inside the barn. He was too scared to actually go in with them.

Watching the Choo Choo drive past.

You know how you always see these adorable pictures of children sitting in pumpkin patches, behaving perfectly & actually smiling  - not Will!!! He wouldn't sit still! I had to run ahead of him just to get a single shot. I even resorted to telling him to kick a pumpkin, just so he'd "hold still" long enough for me to get something. Well, I finally settled for this picture - it was the best I could realistically hope for. I'm just trying to stay one step ahead!

Will enjoyed looking at all the different scarecrows that were lined up along the train tracks. He especially liked the dog with the vampire teeth.

They had old train cars to climb around in.

Cherrie & I decided it would be best if we sat in "the cage" while going for the train ride. Will seriously won't hold still, & this was our safest bet while traveling down the tracks. I would have hated for him to fling his body out of the moving train just so he could go see the cows or horses as we went past!

Before leaving, I just barely remembered to buy some pumpkins. They were so much cheaper than the grocery store & they had such a big variety to choose from!

We really enjoyed our day at the Farm. I can't wait to go back again (hopefully one more time before the season's over?)! I always forget how fun the Fall is with all the different seasonal activities, & it doesn't hurt to have such a fun little guy to share it with!

8 February - a day at the park

Will & I went to the park this morning to enjoy the beautiful weather - it was a little windy, but the sun was out & the ground was dry.  I had so much fun watching him play on the equipment & chase after the big kids who were playing football.

"Climbing" up the slide - more like sitting at the bottom of it not knowing what to do.

He really wanted to get in on the action. His buddies, Fisher & Koi were part of the fun, & Will wanted to run, throw, & tackle just like them. Don't worry kid, you'll be doing it soon enough.

"Touchdown!"

He'd had enough football & wanted to go play on the swings.

Gotta love the Vans

Miniature Golfing at Sunsplash

Last night, Scott & I went miniature golfing for the first time since we've known each other. Scott refused to take me when we were dating because he thought it was cliche (he wanted to do things that were a little more creative, like taking his TV & a generator to Bridal Veil Falls & watching "The Little Mermaid" with me while in the back of his pickup). So 5ish years later as a married couple, we finally went mini golfing, & we had a blast!
William was very mellow as usual, even while getting whip lash the first few times Scott swung the club: Scott doesn't know his own strength. It's all in the hips.
Tuckered out: Golfing is hard stuff. It was so good to get out of the house & spend some quality time together.
The weather was perfect - plenty warm w/ just a slight breeze - & the sky was beautiful.
No, those are not chopsticks or scissors in my hair - just a beautifully lit windmill behind me. Scott & I are pretty evenly matched when it comes to mini golfing. He beat me by one point (& that's only because I let him;) ). If anyone's ever interested in some competition, we'd love to beat you - we're pretty dang awesome (taking 9 swings to get the ball in the hole's good, right?).
