This was my first real fire. The house in the background was the structure that I was assigned to protect (notice that it is still there). The winds were so crazy and the fire was really fast moving. Two abandoned houses and one occupied mobile home caught fire. It turned out to burn about 40 acres after 3 alarms were called. Liz turned on the TV and freaked out because she knew that it was in my first in area. She called her mom crying because she could not get me on my cell phone (I was a little busy).
Ok liz,let's go over this one more time say after me "My husband is a fire-fighter. If I turn on the tv and see he is working a fire, He probably can't come to the phone...my husband is a fire-fighter, my husband is a fire.....
