Friday night, Tiffani came over to help me arrange and hang my picture frames for my "Family Wall." This is a project that I've been working on for over a year, but could never get myself to finish it (I still need to put pictures in some of the frames and spray paint the brown 3-opening frame black). I also realized that Scott and I have been in our house for almost 9 months, and we still hadn't hung anything on the walls - so I made it a goal to have the frames hung up before our game night on Saturday. This is the result. I'm very happy with it. It's amazing how hanging something on the wall can make a place feel so much more like home. Now I just need to finish the other 20 projects that I have lined up.
On Saturday, Scott and I had some friends over for dinner and a game night. Each person was assigned to bring something to eat. I was in charge of lasagna, the Mortimers were in charge of salad, the Ashbys brought homemade rolls and freezer jam, and the Morgans brought cookies and a key lime dessert thing (Leslie and Tiffani - I want your recipes). I shocked my mom when I told her that I opted for a Costco lasagna instead of making my own (homemade really is better), and had I known that everyone else was making such good food, I would have made more of an effort. After eating and talking for a while, we played a few games of "Snorta" - a game of speed, memory, and animal sounds. We had a great time.
Ben and Josh
Curtis and Ethan - Ben and Leslie's boys (I don't know what it is about our family room, but it's like there's an invisible race track around it that all kids can see. Every kid that ever comes to our house starts running in circles around this room as soon as they get here. Scott and I think it's pretty funny.)
Sara - Ben and Leslie's baby girl

Andrew and Tiffani

ReplyDeleteliz- your family wall looks beautiful----*nice* job-
ReplyDeletewanna swing by Louisville after the family reunion and help me with mine? I get overwhelmed so easily, and then don't do anything... lol
your photo wall looks great! I've always had a hard time with picture frame placement, but you mastered it.
ReplyDeleteHey scott do you have a blog address for Michelle. This is Anecia Belt. My email address is nisahunt@gmail.com. I'd love to hear how she is doing?
ReplyDeleteLove the wall! When are you going to upload the pics to Costco so I can print them, too, and copy you?
ReplyDeleteI love the wall too! I will have to make a trip back to your house to see it in person one of these days. Maybe Jason and I can stop by after the wedding on our way to the hotel? I'm sure he won't mind. It's only a little out of the way.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to seeing this wall too. Maybe Emily and Jason could give me a ride after the wedding. Nice job Liz. Now I gave you lots of those pictures to scan, so now it's time to share! Mom
ReplyDeleteIt turned out so great! I love this idea and I hope I can see it someday. Do you ever hang out with the Carter's? (emily and aaron) You should, they are fun.
