21 May - Fairytale Town

Yesterday, I met my friend Tiffani at Fairytale Town for a day of fun with our little guys.  I loved watching Will explore all the different areas of the park. We had such a wonderful day, & I'm excited to take Will again!
running back & forth across the pirate ship

attempting to climb into a little wishing pond - I distracted William from going in by giving him a few pennies to throw in. (I love how he knows he's doing something he shouldn't - look at that face!)

William & Carson

Mommy & Baby (my baby's growing up too fast!)
Dorothy & the Scarecrow - I love the look on Will's face in this picture. He's such a happy, playful boy.

Cinderella's carriage
I think Will's favorite thing to do at Fairytale Town was run up & down a little foam-ish hill. Forget going down the slides that were at the top of the hill - he preferred to run down alongside them. He looked kind of terrified each time he ran down, but loved the thrill of it! Look how fast that kid's going (the reason he's so out of focus)! He was bouncing all over the place while running down, & came close to falling a few times.
I love this candid picture of Tiffani!
The day wouldn't have been complete without Will chasing a duck around the park. The duck finally alluded him by jumping into some water. Will would have followed if I hadn't stopped him.

12 May 2010

Scott's parents came into town this last week to spend time with Will & to give me a break. Yesterday, they took him to the park.

They brought him home & fed him one of his favorites - Spaghetti-o's

Love the ring on his head from putting his face in the bowl. He looks so disgusting in these pictures, but he sure had fun eating!

All cleaned up & rolling around with his favorite stuffed animals - his lion blanket, Mickey, blabla, & his dalmation puppy (actually, it was Scott's when he was younger).
Snuggling with grandma & ready for bed.
Thanks for coming to play! We love you!

5 May - The Maze Runner completed

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) The Maze Runner by James Dashner

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Talk about amazing! I absolutely loved this book! It is my favorite YA dystopian sci-fi I think I've read to date (granted I haven't read The Hunger Games yet, which I hear is incredible). I am SO excited for the next book in this series to come out. This book was so eerie, & I couldn't put it down. While reading it, I kept thinking about Ender's Game & Lord of the Flies - it gave me the same sense of curiousity, nervousness, excitement. . . . This book is definitely worth owning, & I'm excited for the day when I can read it again with my children & have them experience it too. Wow - I'm stunned!
